Oisín comes from a musical family, Oisin’s grandfathers on both sides were singers, Willie Costello was a member of Dublin’s Palestrina Choir, along with two of his brothers, they were boy sopranos from 1919 to 1921. The Palestrina Choir performs an extensive liturgical choral repertoire, Oisin carried on the tradition when he was a member of the choir in the 1990s.
Oisín regularly participates in traditional Irish music sessions, he is pictured performing in the legendary O’Donoghues of Merrion Row, home to The Dubliners where he sang for An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny.
